Lunalight
The Moonlight Sonata of Swords
Lore Archive
"The Lunalight dancers perform a deadly ballet under the full moon, their Fusion Summons creating increasingly powerful beast-warrior formations. Leo Dancer shrugs off the opponent's targeting and destruction and attacks twice, while Cat Dancer inflicts damage by attacking every opponent's monster. Their grace is lethal, and the moonlight reveals no mercy."
The Lunalights are beast dancers of the moon, and their artworks read like one long masquerade under it. Follow a marked name to walk the trail.
The whole ball: Black Sheep, Cat Dancer, Tiger, White Rabbit and Wolf.
The moon rabbit of East Asian folklore, seen in the dark patches of the Moon. Her mallet is from the Japanese version, where the rabbit pounds rice cake on the Moon.
White Rabbit and Purple Butterfly. It is the only Lunalight card whose moon looks like Earth's real Moon.
She dances in Fusion too.
Blue Cat and Purple Butterfly.
She appears again in Serenade Dance.
Blue Cat, with the shadow of Cat Dancer behind her.
The first of four dancers. Her 100 points of damage on each attack may be a cat's scratch, so-called "scratch damage". She grows into Panther Dancer, Leo Dancer and Liger Dancer.
Level 8, fused from Cat Dancer.
Level 10, and the only Fusion Monster that needs three Fusion Summons in a row, unless Kaleido Chick sends Panther Dancer to the GY as material.
A liger is the child of a lion and a tigress. At Level 12 it needs four Fusion Summons in a row, the only Fusion Monster that does, and it has the highest Level and DEF of any Beast-Warrior.
With Wolf, the only Lunalight Pendulum Monsters and the only ones that are not DARK.
The only Lunalight card that was censored. It dances in the Masquerade.
Named after Luna Light Perfume, a Spell that supports the archetype without its name, which she searches. The perfume rises from her as she dances.
Executive Summary
The Lunalight archetype is a DARK Beast-Warrior, Fusion-centric strategy renowned for its aggressive, OTK (One-Turn Kill) potential. The deck operates through intricate combo lines that masterfully leverage graveyard effects and resource loops. It revolves around a core ensemble of Main Deck monsters that search, special summon, and recur resources, all building towards the crescendo of summoning their powerful Fusion boss monsters. It's a dance of shadows and moonlight, where every move is calculated to deliver a final, devastating performance. As of the 2026 Legendary ARC-V Decks update, the addition of Lunalight Scarlet Tiger has pushed the archetype beyond its purely linear OTK roots, giving it a handtrap-resilient midrange gear that can salvage a turn even after an early interruption.
The Lunalight Ensemble
Each member of the Lunalight troupe plays a vital role in the overarching choreography. Mastering their individual steps and how they interact is key to a flawless performance. You can see the full cast of Lunalight cards in the official database.
Core Dancers: Main Deck Monsters
Lunalight Kaleido Chick
The premier starter. Sends a "Lunalight" from Deck or Extra Deck to the GY as cost, setting up entire combos.
Lunalight Yellow Marten
The heart of the recursion loop. Bounces a "Lunalight" card to summon itself and searches a Spell/Trap when sent to GY by an effect.
Lunalight Tiger
A critical Pendulum extender that revives a "Lunalight" from the GY once per turn.
Lunalight Wolf
A Pendulum monster that acts as a Miracle Fusion, banishing materials from field or GY for a Fusion Summon.
Lunalight Scarlet Tiger
Level 5 DARK Beast-Warrior, 1900/1500. The deck's handtrap insurance. Special Summons itself from hand whenever a "Lunalight" monster's effect is activated, and if that activation happened on a turn your opponent used a card or effect (i.e. they tried to interrupt you), you also add Polymerization from your Deck or GY. If sent to the GY by a card effect, it Special Summons a "Lunalight" from your GY or face-up Extra Deck with its activated effects negated — but continuous effects, like Liger Dancer's immunity and double attack, remain fully live.
Supporting Choreography: Spells
Luna Light Perfume
A powerful dual-threat: revives a "Lunalight" from GY and can be banished from GY to search for any "Lunalight" monster.
Lunalight Fusion
The archetype's fusion spell. Can use a material from the Deck or Extra Deck if your opponent controls an Extra Deck monster.
The Main Performance: Core Combos
The deck's combos range from foundational two-card starters to more complex lines that build resilient, disruptive boards.
Foundational Combo: Kaleido Chick + Perfume
Missing: 35618217
Opening Act
Normal Summon Kaleido Chick. Activate its effect, sending Yellow Marten from your Deck to the GY.
Interlude
Activate Luna Light Perfume to revive Yellow Marten. Marten's effect triggers, searching for a "Lunalight" Spell/Trap.
Climax
Overlay Kaleido Chick and Yellow Marten for a Rank 4 Xyz monster, like Tiger King to search for Fire Formation - Tenki, extending your plays even further.
Advanced Combo: Integrating New Support
Newer support provides more resilient lines that end on built-in disruption, leveraging the full suite of "sent by effect" triggers.
New Starter
Normal Summon Lunalight Gold Leo. Activate its effect to add Kaleido Chick and discard Yellow Marten.
GY Trigger
Yellow Marten triggers in the GY. Add Lunalight Masquerade from your Deck to your hand.
Setup Disruption
Activate Lunalight Masquerade. Use its effect to send Lunalight Silver Hound from the Deck to the GY.
Extend and End
Silver Hound triggers in the GY, Special Summoning an extender like Emerald Bird. You now have multiple monsters for Link/Xyz plays and a live Spell/Trap negate from Silver Hound in the GY.
2026 Update: The Handtrap Insurance Line
Legendary ARC-V Decks — August 2026Lunalight Scarlet Tiger turns an opponent's disruption into your own extension. This line shows how the deck recovers a turn even after a starter gets negated.
Interrupted Opening
Normal Summon Lunalight Gold Leo and activate its effect. Your opponent chains a handtrap like Infinite Impermanence or Effect Veiler to negate it.
The Insurance Trigger
Activate Lunalight Scarlet Tiger from your hand, Special Summoning it off Gold Leo's negated activation. Since your opponent used a card effect this turn, also add Polymerization from your Deck.
Fusion Pivot
Activate Polymerization, fusing the negated Gold Leo with a Lunalight in hand into Lunalight Perfume Dancer. Its effect searches Luna Light Perfume.
Turn Salvaged
Use the searched Luna Light Perfume to revive the originally negated Gold Leo from the GY, bypassing the opponent's interruption entirely and continuing into your standard combo lines.
The Grand Finale: End Boards
The OTK Board
Designed to end the duel in a single, overwhelming battle phase.
Lunalight Leo Dancer
Untargetable, indestructible by card effects, and can attack twice, wiping the opponent's special summoned monsters.
Lunalight Blue Cat
Doubles Leo Dancer's ATK to a staggering 7000, ensuring lethal damage.
The Modern Fortress
A resilient end board merging offensive pressure with in-archetype disruption.
Lunalight Liger Dancer
An unaffected "towers" boss monster that is incredibly difficult for most decks to remove.
Lunalight Silver Hound (in GY)
Provides a Quick Effect Spell/Trap negate by banishing itself and another Fusion from the GY.
The Insurance Engine
A board built around Scarlet Tiger's Graveyard trigger, stacking a second unaffected boss on top of the deck's existing disruption.
Lunalight Scarlet Tiger (sent to GY)
When sent to the GY by a card effect, Special Summons a "Lunalight" from the GY or face-up Extra Deck with its activated effects negated — but a boss like Liger Dancer keeps its continuous immunity and double-attack fully live.
Lunalight Silver Hound (in GY)
Sits alongside as a live Quick Effect Spell/Trap negate, giving the board two independent layers of protection behind the revived boss monster.
Competitive Analysis
Strengths
- Explosive OTK Potential: Capable of ending games swiftly with high-ATK, multi-attacking monsters.
- High Consistency: Numerous starters and searchers make the core engine readily accessible.
- Resilience to certain disruption: The "send for cost" mechanic of Kaleido Chick can play through on-field negation.
- Handtrap Insurance (2026 Update): Lunalight Scarlet Tiger converts an opponent's negation of a starter into a free body and a Polymerization search, letting the deck continue its combo despite the interruption.
Weaknesses
- Vulnerable to Hand Traps: Extremely weak to cards like Dimension Shifter, Artifact Lancea, and Droll & Lock Bird. (Partially mitigated since 2026 by Lunalight Scarlet Tiger's insurance effect — see Strengths — though it does nothing against hand traps that stop the Normal Summon itself.)
- Fragile Choke Points: The Normal Summon of the starter is a clear and easily targeted point of disruption.

Banlist Impact
While the Lunalight core remains untouched, the archetype's low to moderate (self-sufficient fusion engine, benefits from Predaplant/Frightfur hybrid builds) means restrictions on generic support cards do have an impact.
Affected Synergistic Cards
Forbidden
- Predaplant Verte Anaconda
- Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess
- Borreload Savage Dragon
Limited
- Instant Fusion
- Called by the Grave
- Crossout Designator
- Triple Tactics Talent
- Pot of Prosperity
- Foolish Burial
Meta Implications: Despite restrictions on support cards, Lunalight's high (can be played pure, hybrid with Predaplant, or mixed with Frightfur engine) allows the deck to remain viable with alternative tech choices.
